 | | | | | | | How we work: To the Property Owners |

- Please send pictures of your property. Take advantage of the uploading feature on this website. The features are as easy to use as your attachment feature in your email program. It is important to make sure the size of your pictures are 640x 320 (the smallest selected size on your camera). Try to shoot your pictures as wide as possible. If you send pictures you will get an immediate response.
- When time permits we can come to your property and (for a small fee) improve the images of your property. We will create a digital portfolio of your property. Time required will vary depending on the size of the space. For example, a loft will take about 30 minutes to shoot pictures.
- We promote your property portfolio by providing a database description of your property online. Most professionals will be able to find the perfect location with the key words in the database. In addition, we discuss the project with each filmmaker, gather all the details, and then show them possible solutions.
- Once a professional shows interest in your property, we call you to see if you would have an interest in the project. We will tell you dates, type of filming, size of crew and the budgeted location fee.
- We set up a scout time for the client to come and view your property.
 | | Scouting |

- Scouting may involve the photographer, director or client.
- No fees are paid to property owners for scouting.
- Scheduling a scout does not guarantee your property will be selected. Clients may scout many locations in one day, and though you may be called regularly, you may not be selected for each project. This is part of the process. Once the client confirms a booking for your property, the client will scout one more time for what is called a technical scout.
 | | Print Shoot |

- Print shoots involve taking various photos of your property and usually have duration of 8-10 hours. However, a price will be negotiated for a 10-12 hour day.
- Crews and cast sizes are usually small, approximately between 6-12 people, plus talent. Equipment is usually minimal (cameras, lights, cases, wardrobe, hair/makeup and propping).
- Vehicles may involve a motor home; crew members may arrive in personal cars.
 | | Film Shoots |

- A commercial film shoot is usually a 12-16 hour day.
- Crews are 30-60 people, and equipment is very extensive.
- When the size of the shoot is large, you may ask that someone from Location Consultants manage your property during the shoot when there is no on-site Location Manager assigned to the project.
 |
 |
Final Steps |

- A Contract listing fees, times and any specific requests is signed by the Lessee.
- Our office receives a certificate of insurance. Without insurance no shoot will be allowed to proceed.
- Location Consultants receives the rental fee, and a check is forwarded to the property owner.
- An approximate start time is confirmed.

 |
Miscellaneous |

- If your space is an apartment, co-op, condo, or other communal situation, it is imperative to get permission from the owners of the building, condo association, or neighbors. Please find out the policies before sending your pictures.
- In the process of booking your location, you will find that we may call to see if your location is available during the same time that an existing client desires to use your property.
- Please ensure that your space is clean and tidy for the shoot.
- Clients may come to you directly wishing to rent your space without contacting Location Consultants, but in so doing you may forfeit your rights to participate further with the chicagolocations.com service.
- Film shoots and many still shoots have a location release contract that is separate from our contract. If you are presented with any additional documents, we are here to help and advise you.
- Please advise us when you make changes to your space. Our clients rely on the location portfolios we create, and if you paint, redecorate or make any substantial changes, your pictures will need to be updated.
 |
 |
Things to Expect |

- The caterer will need a place to set up, as will the hair and makeup departments. If a stylist is present, they will also require an area to work.
- Expect pieces of equipment to be set up and moved throughout your space. Expect furniture to be moved around. Expect furniture to be used as props within a shoot. These are the features that attracted the client to your space versus working on a stage.
 |
 |
Damages |

- If damage occurs, do not attempt to fix it. Take a picture of the damage, notify us, and we will get the client's insurance to fix it. On the day of the shoot, make sure to go through the house with the person in charge to make sure there is no pre-existing damage. If there is pre-existing damage, please note it and initial it. We have 42 hours to notify the client.
- Floors and walls will be protected on film shoots with upsom board, corrugated board and plastic on the stairs. If you wish something to receive extra protection, just let the person in charge know your needs.
- Expect normal wear and tear on your space.
 |
 |
Homeowner's Responsibilities |

- Please be available at the start of the shoot. You must go through the space with the head of production. This is to note and record any existing damage.
- At the end of the shoot you will repeat the process.
- Please let us know which items should have special attention and/or protection.
